Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in the United States is seeking a Deli Clerk to prepare and serve fresh deli items with a focus on quality and customer service. You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling slicers and other deli equipment while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, preparing orders, stocking displays, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Flexibility with shifts and strong team collaboration are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a HS diploma or equivalent, or combined education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs., and move up to 20 feet without assistance for up to 4 hours.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department; adhere to safety and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.
• Be able to work in cooler and freezer environments.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing fresh and easy meals.
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; keep deli area clean.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment safely, including slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe deli area and equipment, including cleaning shelves and floors and removing hazards.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
