Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and keep the deli area clean and well presented. You’ll handle slicing, packaging, and special orders while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service.

This role requires 18+ and a high school diploma, dependability, flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays, good communication, and the stamina to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
• Dependable with a friendly attitude and strong customer service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must be able to lift/carry product up to 70 lbs., stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the deli area and operate equipment safely.
• Food safety regulations and a Food Handler permit will be required.
• Able to work in cooler and freezer environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options and preparing fresh meals.
• Present, wrap, and display deli items neatly and handle special orders.
• Fill, rotate, and label products; maintain clean, organized displays.
• Prepare party trays as needed and operate deli equipment.
• Keep deli area clean, sanitized, and safe.
• Receive and inspect shipments for quality and temperature.
