Job summary

Global Partners LP in Shelburne, VT is seeking a Food Service Supervisor/Deli Lead to direct and supervise all activities in the deli and food service department, ensuring merchandising, sales and guest service goals are met. You will manage staff, train new hires, schedule shifts and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires 2 years in a fresh foods environment (preferably in management), Serv-Safe preferred, and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• 2 years prior experience in a fresh food's environment preferably in managerial role.
• Must have reliable transportation and an active driver's license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Stand for long periods of time, bend and twist below waist, and frequently lift and/or maneuver merchandise and supplies, as well as reaching above shoulder height.
• Be dexterous enough with hands and fingers so as to be able to use necessary equipment, including knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers and rotisseries.
• Vocational or Technical Education High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Direct department personnel to meet goals and communicate with store management.
• Schedule all team members.
• Onboard and coach new team members.
• Provide product information and selling suggestions.
• Take guest orders and ensure timely completion.
• Ensure department follows food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Oversee deli/food service item preparation and merchandising.
• Rotate items and manage inventory counts.
• Process cash register transactions and refunds.
• Operate equipment safely (knives, slicers, ovens, fryers).
• Keep counters and prep areas clean and orderly.
