DELI/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Deli department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Deli operations. Minimum Requirements:

• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to handle stressful situations

Desired Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent (preferred)
• Management experience (preferred)
• Retail experience
• Deli experience

Key Responsibilities include:

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company and store goals
• Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets
• Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in performance appraisals
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
• Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions
• Slice deli meats and cheeses according to customer requests using proper equipment
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
• Inform customers of deli specials
• Provide customers with ordered products of correct portion size to prevent shrink
• Recommend deli items to customers to meet their needs
• Use deli equipment (fryer, rotisserie, heat lamps, ovens) following company guidelines
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
• Educate associates about current promotions, especially those affecting the Deli
• Assist in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate actions
• Plan, organize, and supervise inventory processes
• Train staff on inventory, stocking, and computer-assisted ordering
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify maintenance of repairs needed
• Report customer or employee accidents and safety issues
• Report illegal activities, including theft, fraud, or robbery
