Sprouts Farmers Market in Reno is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and maintain a clean, inviting deli area. You will handle slicing equipment, package products, and help with special orders while delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction in a team environment
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Must be able to lift/carry product up to 70 lbs., up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total 8 hours per shift
• General housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area
• Operate a slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment; maintain equipment safety
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; food handlers permit
• Work in cooler and freezer environments
• Other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting healthy food options by preparing fresh and easy meals
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
• Prepare special orders and party trays
• Operate deli equipment (slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales) per standards
• Maintain clean, safe, sanitary deli area and equipment
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
