Job summary

Global Partners LP is seeking a Food Service Associate/Deli Clerk to manage the deli and food service daily operations, ensuring sanitation, store appearance and guest service. You will process transactions, slice and prepare items, and maintain product quality and safety.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and flexibility to work weekends or evenings. Health benefits, 401k and tuition reimbursement are among the company’s commitments.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
• Flexibility to work weekend, holiday and/or evening shifts and assist other locations as needed.
• Must have 2 years foodservice or retail management.
• Must have reliable transportation and an active driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Stand for long periods of time, bend and twist below waist, and frequently lift and/or maneuver merchandise and supplies.
• Be dexterous enough with hands and fingers to use knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers and rotisseries.

Responsibilities

• Process cash register transactions, giving back change and refunds.
• Learn to use register, scales, scanners and debit/credit terminals.
• Read UPC codes, product labels, shelf signage, and posted company policies/procedures.
• Prepare, wrap, box, weigh, slice, and stock deli/food service products; rotate as needed.
• Cook deli items including fried foods, salads, sandwiches, and hot/cold beverages.
• Work safely around slicers, ovens, fryers, rotisseries and other equipment.
• Take guest orders and ensure timely completion and guest satisfaction.
• Keep the check stand and production areas clean and organized.
• Display products following deli guidelines; assist with pricing and signage.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Store Manager.
