Job summary

Martin's Super Markets in Mishawaka, IN seeks a dedicated department supervisor to lead daily operations in the absence of the manager, ensuring staffing, training and adherence to company standards. You will manage inventory, review orders, train and coach associates, oversee scheduling, safety, and guest experience, and support cost controls while aligning with our Winning Recipe and core values.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.
• Depending on company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in your department, using inventory control procedures and markdowns to minimize loss and ensure freshness.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, and ensure proper storage.
• Lead a team that completes stocking, production, and related tasks to ensure quality, planning, and date-sensitive rotation; address spoiled/damaged products.
• Maintain familiarity with products carried in the department and store overall.
• Know ad items, special prices, coupons, and store promotions for sales and rewards programs.
• Communicate and execute Flight Plan to meet company expectations and timelines.
• Follow scheduling, labor control, overtime control, and payroll expense guidelines for the department.
• Implement Our Winning Recipe and model core values and competencies.
• Support staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
