Job summary

Martin's Super Markets in Elkhart, IN, seeks an experienced department supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in a retail store. You will train staff, manage staffing levels, and ensure KPIs are met while maintaining product quality and freshness.

A hands-on leader will coordinate inventory, scheduling, and safety compliance to deliver excellent customer service. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, with 2 years retail experience and 1 year supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with hands-on approach.
• Good strategic planning and business acumen.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language ability desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Manage a team handling stocking, production, and related tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with department and store products.
• Know advertised items, prices, and coupon deals.
• Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plan.
• Follow scheduling policies using company tools.
• Manage department scheduling, labor, and payroll expenses.
• Implement and uphold company core values andWinning Recipe.
• Oversee staffing, training, performance, and career development.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Attend daily huddles and meetings.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department per guidelines.
• Ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed.
• Develop plans to meet company KPIs.
• Additional responsibilities as needed.
