Job summary

Martin's Super Markets in Elkhart, IN is seeking a department supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in the retail store, ensuring staff are trained, the department is fully staffed, and goals are met.

You will manage inventory, review orders, supervise stocking, know weekly ad items, plan schedules, and uphold safety and food safety standards while delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Good organization, prioritization, problem solving and conflict management.
• Ability to lead a hands-on team in a store setting.
• Bilingual Spanish desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory, ensure product freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, and weight.
• Manage a team to complete stocking and production tasks.
• Maintain knowledge of department and store products.
• Know ad items, special prices, and rewards programs.
• Communicate and execute Flight Plan per guidelines.
• Assist in scheduling, labor control, and payroll expense.
• Support manager in staffing and career development.
• Follow PPE, safety, and food safety guidelines.
• Attend daily huddles and meetings; maintain clean, stocked department.
