Overview of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-quality customer service in our popular department. Your tasks include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining high standards of food safety. There are ample opportunities for growth, learning about products and equipment, and becoming a customer service expert. We seek individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable mix of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Display friendly, outgoing behavior with a positive attitude and good customer interaction skills.
• Be flexible with schedule changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have strong communication skills, ability to follow directions, and work well in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and handling special orders.
• Lift and carry up to 70 lbs., move product up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand continuously for up to 4 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties.
• Operate slicing, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Follow safety, health, and regulatory standards; obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in temperature-controlled environments (cooler and freezer).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The hourly pay range is $16.70 - $22.55, based on experience and qualifications.
