Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service. Your duties include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of meats, cheeses, and deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities for growth, including learning about products, equipment, and customer service. Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and good customer interaction skills
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours, and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit
• Work in temperature-controlled environments (cooler and freezer)
• Other duties as assigned
