Overview

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service in our popular department. Your tasks include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of our meats, cheeses, and deli items. The role requires food safety knowledge to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities for growth, learning about products, equipment, and customer service. We seek individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable, reliable, and friendly, with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills.
• Be flexible to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills, ability to follow directions, and work well in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. horizontally/vertically, over distances up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in temperature-controlled environments like coolers and freezers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The hourly pay range is $16.70 - $22.55, based on experience and qualifications.
