Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store, including customer service and product flow, are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for decisions.
• Experience in coaching and driving sales with suggestive selling.
• Leadership in maintaining safety and mentoring hourly staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and sales.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet needs; promote career development.
• Document disciplinary actions and make recommendations on discharge.
• Manage P&L, sales targets, and shrink within the department.
• Model fast, friendly service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensure team training and adherence to company standards.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and teammates.
• Foster a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
