Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach for all team members.
  • Implement strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
  • Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and adherence to company standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
  • Handle staffing, recruitment, and hiring to meet operational needs.
  • Promote succession planning by identifying development needs and supporting career progression.
  • Manage disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding employment status.
  • Oversee P&L, sales targets, and shrink reduction.
  • Model exceptional customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
  • Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
  • Ensure team is well-trained and completes all required training.
  • Spend most of the time within the store engaging with customers and team members.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of related retail experience.
  • At least one year of management experience.
  • Experience with rotational assignments in various store departments.
  • Strong communication skills for providing clear direction.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data.
  • Commitment to working safely at all times.
  • Ability to mentor team members across different roles.
  • Completion of all required certifications.
