Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
- Serve as a mentor and coach for all team members.
- Implement strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
- Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and adherence to company standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
- Handle staffing, recruitment, and hiring to meet operational needs.
- Promote succession planning by identifying development needs and supporting career progression.
- Manage disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding employment status.
- Oversee P&L, sales targets, and shrink reduction.
- Model exceptional customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
- Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
- Ensure team is well-trained and completes all required training.
- Spend most of the time within the store engaging with customers and team members.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of related retail experience.
- At least one year of management experience.
- Experience with rotational assignments in various store departments.
- Strong communication skills for providing clear direction.
- Ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data.
- Commitment to working safely at all times.
- Ability to mentor team members across different roles.
- Completion of all required certifications.
