Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking an Assistant Manager/Shift Lead to support the Deli/Bakery Manager and lead a team of 5–10 employees at one of our commissary locations. You will ensure top-notch customer service while upholding food safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, inventory management, and maintaining accurate records. This hands-on role demands energy, reliability, and a positive teamwork spirit in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience.
• Shift lead/management experience mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds with/without accommodation.
• Open availability including weekends and closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deli/Bakery Manager in providing leadership to 5–10 employees.
• Maintain high levels of customer service while meeting requirements.
• Oversee food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and delegating tasks.
• Manage inventories and prepare monthly reports.
