Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Deli/Bakery Associate to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced supermarket environment. You will slice deli meats, prepare bakery items, answer questions, and help customers find the products they want.

As part of the team, you will maintain a clean, safe store area, follow food safety guidelines, and support department managers to meet sales goals while upholding the company's values of respect, honesty, integrity and diversity.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Answer questions and help customers find products throughout the department and store.
• Promote and suggest deli/bakery/bistro items to meet customer needs.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and ensure proper temperatures and logs are maintained.
• Provide support by maintaining cleanliness, safety and food safety regulations in the department.
