As a Bakery/Deli Clerk you will prepare items on request, offer samples, inform customers of specials, ensure correct portions and freshness, stock and label merchandise, and follow food safety and temperature

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Clear communication with customers and team members.
• Basic math proficiency for transactions and measurements.
• Ability to obtain a food handler permit after hire.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through service.
• Prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Offer samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery or deli specials.
• Provide fresh products and correct portion sizes.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following recipes and temperature logs.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Promote a welcoming environment and effective teamwork.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
