You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, monitor quality standards, and promote Kroger's Customer 1st strategy while upholding core company values. You will engage customers, learn product details, and prepare deli/bakery items to order, ensuring accurate portions and freshness as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced store

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about department products and store wider range.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of department products and make recommendations.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using deli equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials.
• Ensure products are fresh and properly portioned to minimize shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely according to guidelines.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Monitor safety and discuss issues with management.
