Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.

• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job function.
• Must be accredited by a food safety certification body (e.g., Certified Food Safety Manager) or complete internal training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity.
• Provide leadership and motivation to reflect Brand Strategy and Culture.
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Deliver enthusiastic customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
• Role model outstanding, friendly customer service using department product knowledge.
• Control store expenses through proper ordering and proper use of supplies.
• Understand and use company tools and systems (ACIS, scheduling, and reporting).
• Maintain department appearance, quality, sanitation and safety standards.
• Ensure schedules are written to provide extraordinary customer service, every other week as needed.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Record and report accidents; monitor shrink and coach to prevent losses.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
