Job summary

Meijer in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking an experienced store leadership professional to oversee daily operations, drive sales, and mentor a diverse team across departments. The role focuses on staffing, customer service, and adherence to company standards to deliver a premier shopping experience.

You will manage P&L, analyze performance metrics, and implement development plans to advance team members while ensuring safety and operational efficiency in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate for clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development paths; involved in promotion decisions.
• Documents disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures team is thoroughly trained in all job aspects and required training completed.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team to ensure exceptional service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
