Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Manager for the Deli and Bakery Department in Sterling Heights, MI. You will plan, direct, and supervise daily operations, mentor staff, and drive customer service and sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

The role requires 1 year of management experience, 2–3 years retail experience, and ability to manage multiple tasks with strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across meat, bakery, produce and deli.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear directions to team.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data.
• Willingness to mentor team members and SDITs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise the deli and bakery department in day-to-day operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to achieve service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career development and succession planning within the team.
• Document disciplinary actions and contribute to promotion decisions.
• Oversee P&L, sales, and shrink to meet department targets.
• Maintain clean, safe, and attractive department appearance.
