Job summary

AC&T Co. Inc. is seeking a Deli Associate to serve customers promptly and courteously while preparing delicious cold items. You will slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses, assemble sandwiches and salads, and help with special orders and party trays.

Maintain clean work areas, follow sanitation guidelines, and assist team members to ensure a positive customer experience. Prior deli or food prep experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Deli counter or food prep experience preferred.
• Able to lift 25–50 lbs and operate equipment like slicers and scales.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, friendly service to deli customers.
• Slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses; prepare sandwiches and salads.

JOB TITLE: Deli FLSA: Non-ExemptDEPARTMENT: KitchenREPORTS TO: Kitchen ManagerGENERAL SUMMARY: To serve AC&T customers promptly, courteously friendly and enhance the image of AC&T by preparing delicious food. AC&T is a service company whose goal is to make every shopping/dining experience profitable and pleasurable.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.Preparing sandwiches, subs, salads, and other cold items for resale.Preparing special orders and party trays.Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.Cooperating with others to ensure customer satisfaction.Performs other tasks & duties as assigned or required.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:High School Diploma or GED.Deli counter or food preparation experience may be required.Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs, and operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, cash registers, etc.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.Experience:Deli/Kitchen: 1 year (Preferred)BENEFITS:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insurance
