Position Overview

Location: Jerry's Foods Eden Prairie

Reports to: Deli Manager

Classification: Part Time

Rate of Pay: Progressive scale from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience

Hours: Sunday – Saturday, varied evening hours

Responsibilities

• Make lasting connections with customers
• Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses (may need to handle pork)
• Fill and rotate cases and displays (may involve heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.)
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary store
• Work with the team on all tasks necessary to support an excellent department
• Be a dedicated team member who arrives promptly and works as scheduled

Preferred Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, promoting customer service for the team
• Knowledge of meats, cheeses, salads, and good food
• Completed Food Safety training

Physical Requirements

• Frequent: lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 500–1500 lbs., walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting
• Occasional: lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., crawling

Equipment Operation

• Scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom
• Pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, roaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee pot, cleaning utensils

Mental Requirements

• Judgment/decision making

• Memorization, reading, writing, math

Environmental Conditions

• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
• Exposure to hot equipment and cooking oil
