Job summary

Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense systems in Gilbert, AZ. You will work with multidisciplinary engineers to deliver reliable, secure software that meets DoD requirements and mission objectives.

The role emphasizes full software lifecycle participation, embedded and desktop/web/system-level development, and collaboration across teams in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience developing with C++, C#, Java, Python, or C.
• Experience with IDEs, source control systems, and software development tools.
• Experience developing and executing software test plans and procedures.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall software lifecycles.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain software applications for aerospace, defense, and mission-critical systems.
• Research, evaluate, and apply software engineering principles and mathematical analysis to create innovative solutions.
• Analyze requirements and specifications to determine feasibility within cost, schedule, and performance constraints.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, and Hardware Engineers to define software architecture and interfaces.
• Design software systems using sound engineering practices and object-oriented design.
• Develop software for embedded, desktop, web-based, or system-level applications per program needs.
• Create and maintain software architecture documents and design docs.
• Develop unit, integration, system, and regression tests to verify functionality.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Particpate in code reviews to ensure quality and standards.
• Support software integration, validation, verification, and customer acceptance testing.
• Assist with installation, deployment, configuration management, and field implementation.
• Consult with customers and stakeholders on functionality and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain software user manuals, release notes, and engineering reports.
• Support proposal development, technical planning, and effort estimation.
• Participate in Agile or traditional software development activities.
