Job summary

Serco is seeking an Operations Vice President of Defense Programs in the Washington, D.C. area. This executive role directs a $150M+ portfolio with ~400 staff globally, steering growth, performance, and customer satisfaction while aligning with Serco's strategic objectives.

You will lead DoW-focused Navy programs, oversee financials, and drive innovative solutions across contracts, partnering with senior government and industry leaders.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Master's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• 12 years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex organizations and programs.
• Experience managing large-scale operations with P&L responsibility.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic growth and operational performance of a DoW portfolio with >$150M annual revenue and ~400 staff worldwide.
• Provide executive direction to Business Directors for Navy Acquisition, Modernization, and In‑Service Maintenance programs.
• Set strategies and priorities to support growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term objectives.
• Oversee portfolio financials: revenue, profitability, forecasting, and cost management.
• Drive innovative, tech-enabled solutions across mission areas and contract vehicles.
• Act as liaison with senior government customers, partners, and Serco leadership to grow relationships.
• Lead business development, pipeline expansion, capture, and organic growth in the DoW market.
• Develop workforce and succession plans to ensure leadership continuity.
• Lead organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage risks and maintain high performance and quality standards.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align with Serco's vision and goals.
