Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Program Manager to lead an Army acquisition program and coordinate with DoD clients and subcontractors. You will drive schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation while ensuring regulatory compliance across the program lifecycle.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and an ability to align diverse teams toward high-quality deliverables, with relocation to the Huntsville, AL area or current residence nearby.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 12–15 years in defense industry or Master's with 10–13 years in defense industry.
• Experience in prototype development, test and support equipment development and operations and maintenance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs.
• Experience with government contracts and regulations; active security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day management of a large Army acquisition program.
• Coordinate and oversee project activities, ensuring alignment with program goals.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Act as primary point of contact for DoD clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Support development and execution of risk management plans.
• Prepare and present program status reports to senior management and DoD clients.
• Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Foster a collaborative work environment within the program team.
• Orchestrate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions from conception to launch.
