Leidos Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Program Manager to lead a large Army acquisition program. You will coordinate activities, develop schedules and budgets, manage resources, and serve as the primary liaison with DoD clients and subcontractors to ensure program success.

The role requires a strong engineering and manufacturing background, proven PM leadership, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams from conception through launch while maintaining DoD regulatory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 12–15 years of defense experience or Master's with 10–13 years in defense.
  • Proven experience in prototype development, test and support equipment development and operations and maintenance.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and prioritize effectively.

  • Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day management of a large Army acquisition program.
  • Coordinate and oversee project activities, ensuring they align with program goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including DoD clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Support the development and execution of risk management plans.
  • Prepare and present program status reports and briefings to senior management and DoD clients.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the program team.
  • Ability to orchestrate cross functional teams to ensure high quality solutions are delivered from conception to launch

Responsibilities Include

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus 12-15 years of relevant experience in the defense industry or Masters with at least 10-13 years of relevant experience in the defense industry.
  • Proven experience in prototype development, test and support equipment development and operations and maintenance.
  • Strong technical background, with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in risk management, including the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the project.
  • Experience working with government contracts and regulations.
  • Must be a US citizen possess and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on a DoD acquisition program
  • Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environment
  • Background in engineering
  • Previous military experience
  • Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation
  • Extensive understanding of defense acquisition process.

Pay Range

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
