Job summary

Leidos in Colorado Springs is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join CMF supporting defense programs. You will oversee and optimize production from raw materials to finished products, coordinating with Planning & Production Control, Quality Engineers, Design Engineers, and Operations Leads to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Industrial and Systems Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
• Collaborative engineering environment requiring multi-disciplinary teamwork.
• Experience with CNC milling and lathe machining.
• Experience with MRP/ERP/MES systems.
• Proficient understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 processes.
• Experience with contactless structured blue light scanning.
• SolidWorks proficiency.
• Resident of Colorado Springs or willing to relocate, US citizen with eligibility for Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement procedures to transform raw materials into finished products efficiently.
• Use Solumina MES to track, monitor, and control manufacturing processes.
• Generate and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (mBOMs).
• Create routings in Solumina to account for run times.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Plan and maintain production flow using the MRP system.
• Manage configuration and data controls for changes.
• Define manufacturing processes, procedures, and production flow for assembly, integration, and test.
• Coordinate production workflow across projects, schedule resources and materials.
• Resolve issues related to configuration changes, material shortages, and scheduling priorities.
• Oversee and optimize production processes for efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Inventory Control.
• Expedite jobs and resolve material shortages.
• Maintain ISO9001/AS9100 compliance.
