Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Colorado Manufacturing team, focusing on the Thermal Protection System production for DoD programs. The role is on-site, second shift, and requires close collaboration with engineering, QA, and operations to optimize the production line.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with strong CAD/MIS tooling skills, GD&T proficiency, and hands-on experience with machining, MRP/ERP systems, and Lean methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering with minimum 4 years of applicable experience.
• Experience with CNC Mill and Lathe machining.
• Six years of experience with Manufacturing, Assembly & Integration with machining and/or mechanical components.
• Experience with MRP/ERP/PLM/MES systems.
• Proficient understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 processes.
• Experience with contactless structured blue light scanning.
• Intermediate proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• US Citizen and ability to maintain Secret Clearance; resident of Colorado Springs or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Implement procedures to transform raw materials into finished products efficiently.
• Use MES software (Solumina) to manage manufacturing processes.
• Generate and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (mBOMs).
• Create routings in Solumina for accurate run times.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement projects.
• Identify and mitigate production process risks.
• Plan and manage production flow using MRP system.
• Manage Configuration & Data Management processes and controls.
• Define manufacturing processes for assembly, integration and test.
• Coordinate production workflow across projects and resources.
• Resolve issues related to configuration changes and material shortages.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Operations, and Inventory Control.
