Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected Chicago law firm to identify an experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to support a busy civil litigation practice. This role emphasizes managing complex case files, supporting trial preparation, and collaborating with attorneys throughout the lifecycle of litigation matters.

The position is hybrid in Chicago, IL, offering a competitive compensation package and benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil or defense litigation paralegal experience
• Strong knowledge of discovery, litigation procedures, and trial preparation
• Experience reviewing medical records and preparing chronologies is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and prepare discovery requests and responses
• Review, organize, and summarize medical records
• Prepare medical chronologies and deposition summaries
• Assist with subpoena preparation and document productions
• Track case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
• Support attorneys with trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation
• Prepare exhibit lists, witness lists, trial notebooks, and presentation materials
• Conduct factual investigations and legal research
• Maintain accurate billing records and time entries

LHH is partnering with a respected law firm in Chicago, Illinois to identify an experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to support a busy civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys managing complex case files, supporting trial preparation, and working closely with attorneys throughout the lifecycle of litigation matters.

Location

Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and prepare discovery requests and responses
• Review, organize, and summarize medical records
• Prepare medical chronologies and deposition summaries
• Assist with subpoena preparation and document productions
• Track case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
• Support attorneys with trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation
• Prepare exhibit lists, witness lists, trial notebooks, and presentation materials
• Conduct factual investigations and legal research

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
