Job summary

Lydecker LLP in Florida is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our growing defense litigation practice group. You will handle calendaring, client correspondence, and document preparation with accuracy and efficiency.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years in civil defense litigation, experience with pleadings and court filings, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. We offer flexible hours and competitive compensation within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of civil defense litigation experience.
• Experience drafting basic pleadings and legal correspondence.
• Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and editing skills.
• Associate or Bachelor degree is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Client billing and sending invoices.
• Drafting simple legal documents such as discovery requests, notices, subpoenas.
• Organizing and filing pleadings and case materials.
• Answering phones, communicating with clients and other parties, and responding to emails.
• Preparing documents for proceedings, such as trials and hearings.
• Assisting with trial preparation, such as transporting exhibits and setting up equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
• Hourly rate depending on depth and years of experience.
