Job summary

Safran Defense & Space, Inc. in Camarillo, CA is seeking an Accountant to join the accounting team.

The role requires knowledge of GAAP, consolidation, and strong Excel skills; you will support monthly closes, maintain ledgers, prepare journal entries, and assist with audits and tax filings. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, at least three years of experience, and comfort with ERP systems (SAP/WAWF).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• ERP experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

Responsibilities

• Understand financial transactions and statements.
• Support monthly close per GAAP.
• Maintain general ledger and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Handle various invoicing activities.
• Contribute to internal controls improvements.
• Assist in forecasts and annual budget.
• Generate internal management reports (cost, inventory, profitability, IR&D).
• Support audit requests and tax filings as needed.
• Assist ERP activities and ad hoc reporting.
