Job summary

Safran Defense & Space, Inc. in the United States seeks an Accountant to join the accounting team and support the monthly close, GL maintenance, and reporting with strict adherence to GAAP. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and collaboration within a small team.

Responsibilities include journal entries, invoicing, audits support, forecasts and budgeting, and internal reporting on program costs, inventory, product profitability, and IR&D. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• Minimum three years’ experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP is required.
• ERP experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel are essential.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Have a working understanding of financial transactions and financial statements.
• Support the monthly financial close process in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Responsible for various invoicing activities.
• Contribute to internal controls initiatives, identifying opportunities for compliance improvements.
• Assist in preparing forecasts and the annual budget.
• Create and distribute weekly or monthly internal management reports related to Program/Product cost progression, Inventory, Product Line Profitability, IR&D, etc.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Assist with tax filings and sales tax compliance on an as needed basis.
• Provide support for ERP activities as necessary.
• Generate ad hoc reporting as required.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
