Job summary

nLIGHT in Camas, WA seeks a Senior Financial Analyst for Defense to partner with executive management and drive profitability of the defense business in a complex manufacturing environment. You will lead reporting, forecasting, and cost analysis using EVMS and ERP systems, support FAR compliance, and coordinate cross-functional teams to improve processes and insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Corporate Finance or Program Control supporting Government Programs.
• Power user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with EVMS, Forecasting, and ERP systems.
• Ability to organize and complete multiple high-priority projects on schedule.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and strong judgement.
• Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate complex information to management.
• Creative and tenacious problem-solver with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Business Partnering – Support contract proposals and performance; develop reporting to improve insight and decision-making.
• Reporting – Develop insightful reports supporting monthly/quarterly/annual results and forecast for programs.
• Forecasting – Coordinate rolling forecasts and planning scenarios using FP&A and EVMS tools.
• Financial Reporting – Review accounting packages, explain trends and variances, improve understanding of results.
• Compliance Support – Support FAR, DCMA/DCAA reviews, and external audits; ensure sensitive information protection.
• Lead cross-functional teams to improve reporting and processes across accounting, operations, and government contracts.
