Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in Portsmouth, RI seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer with strong analog, digital and mixed-signal design, plus embedded software and GUI development skills. The role requires a current Secret clearance and the ability to work with minimal oversight.

The successful candidate will manage projects, travel to customer sites, and lead hardware/software activities across multiple disciplines on DoD programs in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal, Fiber optics.
• Experience in signal processing using MATLAB.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical design in Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal, fiber-optic, FPGA, and software disciplines, including developing embedded software and GUI interfaces, while traveling as needed to customer sites and subcontractor facilities.
• Experience coordinating program requirements and schedules to define project goals, scope, and deliverables; monitor progress and mitigate risks.
• Communicate project status to Engineering and Program Leadership; act as primary point of contact for updates.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of hardware engineering capabilities to ensure successful execution of designs.
• Support cost estimating, management, and technical status for the execution of capital projects.
