Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector seeks a Cloud Engineer to deploy, maintain, and scale hybrid cloud infrastructure for Air Force programs. You will implement IaC (Terraform/Ansible/ARM), manage Azure IaaS/PaaS, and ensure security in a DevSecOps environment.

On-site with potential support across locations, joining a 24x7 monitoring team. The role requires TS clearance eligibility, Azure and DoD-compliant certifications, and hands-on experience with virtualization, networking, and container tech to support

Qualifications

• US Citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain SCI.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant experience as specified.
• DoD 8140 Intermediate certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or equivalents from other providers.
• Proficiency with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack).
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI and other public clouds.
• Hands-on IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for microservices.
• Solid networking knowledge (VPCs, subnets, VPNs, firewalls).
• DevSecOps practices and security-focused automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructures in Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS).
• Automate deployments using IaC/Configuration-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM/BICEP).
• Provision, maintain, and scale Azure resources with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor resource utilization for cost efficiency and scalability.
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure security/compliance within a DevSecOps framework.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation in the lifecycle.
• Implement containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices.
• Configure monitoring tools for availability and performance.
• Identify optimizations to improve efficiency and uptime.
• Apply IAM, network segmentation, encryption security best practices.
• Assist in audits (RMF, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Provide Tier-2/3 support and collaborate with internal/ external teams.
• Document configurations and troubleshooting steps.
