Job summary

Polaris Inc. seeks a seasoned business development leader to drive growth with U.S. and allied military customers, emphasizing Foreign Military Sales and security-assistance channels.

You will build relationships across US security-enterprise, translating capability gaps and funding into executable capture strategies. The role requires deep knowledge of defense acquisition, opportunity qualification, and cross-functional leadership with travel to domestic and international sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of military/defense industry or related business development experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Army, military organizations, and the security-assistance enterprise.
• Experience engaging organizations like USASAC, Army SAMDs, ODCs/SCOs, Combatant Commands, and international customers.
• Travel domestically and internationally ~40–50%: customer meetings, installations, events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies for U.S. and allied military customers focusing on FMS and defense opportunities.
• Identify, qualify, and prioritize opportunities based on need, funding, path to procurement, and competition.
• Maintain an opportunity pipeline and contribute to forecasts, plans, and investment decisions.
• Engage customers to understand priorities, budgets, policies, and acquisition plans.
• Lead capture planning and coordinate cross-functional teams to support proposal development.
• Serve as capture manager for assigned pursuits and align voice of the customer with product and pricing decisions.
