Job summary

Flanigan's Enterprises is seeking a hospitality professional to join our team as a server. You will greet guests, take orders, serve meals and beverages, and ensure a positive dining experience.

Positive attitude, strong communication, and teamwork are essential as you maintain table appearance and assist with running food and drinks. You will operate the POS system, process payments, and support shift openings/closings with side work.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk for the entire shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and handle plates and serviceware safely.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program.
• Complete and pass Florida food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, take orders, and serve meals and beverages.
• Maintain table appearance and assist with running food and drinks.
• Enter orders into POS accurately and promptly.
• Deliver orders to guests in a timely manner.
• Handle payments and give correct change.
• Open/close shifts and perform side work.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
