Job summary

Flanigan’s is seeking a fulltime server at our Deerfield Beach location. You will greet guests, take and enter orders into the POS system, deliver meals and beverages, and ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

You will maintain table appearance, assist coworkers, and assist with opening/closing duties. Must be able to stand for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program.
• Must complete and pass food safety certification program.
• Able to stand for 100% of shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read handwritten guest checks and take clear notes.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Support team by maintaining table appearance and assisting with food/drink running.
• Know and explain menu items, promotions and specials to guests.
• Accurately take and enter guests' orders into the POS system promptly.
• Deliver orders to guests from kitchen/bar in a timely manner.
• Assess guest demeanor and escalate to a Manager when needed.
• Handle guest payments (credit cards, cash, gift cards) and give correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties and sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
