Job summary

Flanigan’s is seeking friendly servers to join our guest-centric team in a bustling restaurant. You will greet guests, take and enter orders, and deliver meals with care while maintaining clean tables and attentive service.

You will follow safety rules, process payments, and assist teammates to ensure a smooth dining experience. The role requires physical stamina, English literacy, and certification compliance with Florida food-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand/walk 100% of shift.
• Frequent bending and stooping as part of service.
• English reading/writing for orders and checks.
• Florida Responsible Vendor certification compliance.
• Food safety certification compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support coworkers in maintaining table appearance and service flow.
• Know menu items and promotions to answer guest questions.
• Write and enter guest orders into the POS accurately and promptly.
• Deliver food/drink orders from kitchen/bar to guests timely.
• Assess guests and know when to summon a Manager.
• Process payments (credit, cash, or gift cards) using the POS and give correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and keep restrooms clean for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
