Job summary

JBSS in Illinois is seeking a Deductions Associate to manage freight deductions, credit requests, deduction resolutions, product return authorizations, and Amazon account disputes. You will research discrepancies, recover revenue, and keep customer account records accurate.

This on-site role is based in Elgin, IL four days per week. Responsibilities include reviewing freight deductions, filing claims, disputing Amazon balances, and coordinating with Customer Service, Sales, Shipping and

Qualifications

• Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred.
• One year or more of Accounts Receivable, customer account management, deductions, or collections experience preferred.
• Experience researching and resolving customer deductions, discrepancies, and account issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate freight deductions, obtain supporting documentation, and route to appropriate departments.
• Determine when freight claims should be filed for damaged, lost, or shorted shipments and coordinate documentation with Shipping.
• Research and dispute shortage claims through Amazon's vendor platforms.
• Open, manage and follow up on Amazon dispute cases to ensure timely resolution.
• Collect and maintain supporting documentation for Amazon deductions and chargebacks.
• Review and resolve aging Amazon account balances by researching disputed amounts, unapplied payments, deductions, and credit memos.
• Prepare and distribute Amazon account statements as needed.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Shipping and Accounting to investigate and resolve customer account issues.
• Maintain accurate records of claims, disputes, deductions, credits and activity.
