Blue Ridge Haulers is seeking an experienced Dedicated CDL A Driver for a regional Ohio–Chicago route. You’ll run 3 loops per week with a potential 4th loop, stay within HOS, and enjoy home weekends with a 34‑hour reset.

The role offers predictable freight, no-touch loads, and a weekly pay guarantee when program requirements are met, plus sign‑on and incentive opportunities. Equipment is modern and trucks can be taken home.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL issued by one state.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• At least 12 consecutive months of U.S. driving history.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
• No preventable major accidents in the past 5 years.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Cannot currently be under contract with another carrier.

Responsibilities

• Operate a regional Ohio–Chicago route with predictable freight.
• Run 3 loops per week; potential 4th loop based on HOS.
• Home every weekend with Saturday-Sunday 34‑hour reset.
• No-touch freight; some live unload duties.
• Maintain PTA and plan trips; accept assigned loads.

Dedicated CDL A Driver- Chicago - Ohio - Home Every Weekend

Job Type: Driving

Home every weekend. Run a consistent Ohio-to-Chicago route with predictable freight, no-touch loads, and guaranteed weekly pay when program requirements are met.

This regional position is designed for drivers who want steady miles without spending weeks away from home. You'll typically run 3 loops per week, with the opportunity to add a fourth paid loop when your available HOS allows.

Route & Home Time

• Home Saturday and Sunday for a 34-hour reset
• Occasional 10-hour home breaks during the week may be available based on freight
• Regional operation between Ohio and Chicago
• 3 OH-to-Chicago loops per week
• Potential 4th loop with additional pay, depending on HOS
• Approximately 50 to 60% drop & hook
• Approximately 40 to 50% live unload

Pay

Average $1,350 to $1,500 per week, with $1,350 guaranteed when program requirements are met, approximately equivalent to $0.75 per mile before accessorial pay.

Additional earning opportunities:

• $12.50/hour detention pay after 2 hours
• $100/day layover or breakdown pay
• Up to $0.03 CPM based on safety, mileage, and productivity
• CPM incentive begins during the first full month after hire
• Must be an active OTR company driver when incentive payments are issued

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus

Weekly Pay Guarantee

The weekly guarantee applies when drivers remain available and meet the program requirements.

To qualify for the weekly guarantee:

• Remain available each day, excluding the scheduled 34-hour restart
• Complete assigned loads without driver-related service failures
• Maintain PTA and plan trips properly
• Accept assigned loads

Trainer Program

• +$250/week while training a student
• Additional $0.05 CPM on miles over 1,875 per week
• Up to $400 Safe Student Bonus per student upgrade
• Potential to earn $20,000+ additional income annually

Trainer requirements: 1 year of OTR experience and 30 days of employment with the company.

• Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the last 36 months
• Valid Class A CDL issued by one state
• At least 21 years old
• At least 12 consecutive months of U.S. driving history
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• No preventable major accidents in the past 5 years
• Safe driving record
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screening
• Cannot currently be under contract with another carrier
