Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, seeks early-career engineers to join the D476 Construction Support Engineering team on third shift, with a 4x10 schedule and shift differential. You will work hands-on on the COLUMBIA Class submarines, learning how design becomes real-world hardware.

You will collaborate with trades, design teams, ship management and operations to address issues, interpret drawings, and deliver tests while growing engineering judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering in relevant disciplines.
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on with trades to resolve technical issues.
• Evaluate emergent challenges and develop fast, safe, engineering-sound solutions.
• Interpret design drawings, specifications, and system requirements.
• Support assembly, testing, and delivery of COLUMBIA Class submarines.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations with support from senior SMEs.
• Capture lessons learned and help implement process improvements.
