Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Engineer II - Electrical for the 2nd shift to support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery of the Columbia-class submarine. You will act as the primary engineering interface for the Groton shipyard, coordinating with Design, Ship's Management, SUPSHIP, and PMS397.

The role requires resolving emergent shipyard issues, interpreting designs, evaluating changes, and driving design and process improvements on a full-time basis

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of post graduate engineering experience.
• Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter and Electronic Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight to resolve emergent shipyard issues during construction.
• Interpret design, drawing, and technical specification requirements.
• Provide engineering evaluation and direction via dispositions of Change Notices and TIR UNSATs.
• Oversee manufacturing, inspection, and testing of material.
• Support design and process improvements through engineering evaluations.
• Coordinate engagement of design/engineering SMEs in the construction sequence.
