Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. seeks a Deckhand to monitor deck areas and assist passengers during ferry operations, docking and underway. You will handle lines, operate mooring, and provide high levels of customer service.

The role includes assisting with boarding, handling refreshments, performing lookout duties, basic maintenance, and ensuring safety equipment is used according to SMS and company policy. Previous marine experience is preferred but not required; TWIC and First Aid/CPR are a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• TWIC Card or ability to obtain.
• First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain.
• Alcohol service certification, or ability to obtain.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Minimum six months of customer service experience preferred.
• One year of deckhand or marine experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Monitor passenger and crew safety during ferry operations and dockside/ underway.
• Assist with boarding, disembarking, and ticketing tasks.
• Perform cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs as directed.
• Provide high level of customer service to guests.
• Balance deposits and handle money.
• Comply with Safety Management System (SMS) and regulations.
