Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must be age 18 or older.
  • Satisfactory background investigation.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • First Aid/ CPR Certification preferred, required after employment as training becomes available.
  • STCW Basic Safety Training preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with boats in previous work preferred.
  • Previous employment or experience in customer service industry.
  • 1 year marine work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety drills as per USCG regulations.
  • Respond to safety situations and render aid per USCG guidelines.
  • Perform as lookout during underway in accordance with regulations.
  • Ensure safe boarding and disembarking of passengers.
  • Collect fares and punch employee boat passes.
  • Record freight and transports as needed.
  • Assist with passenger queuing and pre-boarding.
  • Tend gangway and manage docking procedures.
  • Manage ship’s manifest and daily accounting procedures.
  • Handle lines during maneuvers and docking operations.
  • Distribute boat schedules and share information with passengers.
  • Fuels vessels as required and operate PA for safety info.
