Job summary

Parker Towing Company is hiring Deckhands in Northport, Alabama. As a Deckhand, you will be responsible for tasks such as building and breaking tows and maintaining safety on vessels. Requirements include being at least 18 years old, possessing a high school diploma or GED, and having a valid driver’s license. You will work on a schedule of 20 days on and 10 days off, endure varying weather conditions, and must pass Coast Guard physical and drug requirements. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid/current driver’s license with no exceptions.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must pass Coast Guard physical requirements and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Build and break tow.
• Line handling.
• Assist with going through locks.
• Tying off vessels at fleets and docks.
• Perform minor towboat and barge maintenance.
• Keep boat and barges safe and clean.
