Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to process prescriptions, adjudicate third-party claims, and assist with medication fulfillment in hospital and clinic settings.

The role requires excellent communication, PA-registered/CPHT credentials, and at least a High School diploma with 3+ years of retail/outpatient pharmacy experience. Caring for patients and supporting multidisciplinary teams are core to this position.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills required to interact with patients and families.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy workflow, claims adjudication, and prior authorizations.
  • CPhT certification required and active PA state registration.

Responsibilities

  • Process prescriptions through the pharmacy system and adjudicate third party claims.
  • Assist with filling medication orders accurately and timely.
  • Collect medication histories for reconciliation and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Deliver medications to patients and coordinate with the pharmacy team on approvals and payments.
  • Identify and communicate insurance coverage issues to pharmacists and Prior Authorization Team.
  • Support inventory management and assist with co-pay card processing as needed.
