Job summary

The College of the Albemarle seeks a Dean of Business, Industry and Applied Technologies (BIAT) to provide strategic leadership for multiple programs and to drive accreditation, curriculum development, and workforce partnerships. The Dean will lead faculty, staff, and program coordinators, collaborate across college divisions, and manage budgets and resources to align with regional labor market needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business administration, education, higher education administration, information technology, industrial technology, workforce development, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, or academic leadership experience.
• Minimum of four years of teaching, workforce development, industry, or other directly related professional experience.
• Experience supervising personnel and managing programs, budgets, or organizational operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership, and supervision for division programs, personnel, and operations.
• Develop, review, and assess division goals, objectives, and Unit Action Plans (UAPs).
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and policies across programs.
• Lead curriculum development and program reviews aligned with labor market demands.
• Coordinate scheduling, space planning, and inter-department collaboration.
