Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago's Truman College is seeking a Dean of Career and Continuing Education Programs. This role plans, implements and directs the strategic goals of Career and Continuing Education, including CTE, Vocational Education, Workforce Development and school-to-work programs.

You will supervise staff, develop budgets, obtain grants, plan new courses, ensure student career guidance and job placement, and represent the college with external partners and the District Office.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 30 graduate hours in related field; doctorate preferred.
• Experience teaching in a higher education setting.
• Familiarity with accreditation procedures and program review.
• Experience with assessment of student learning.
• Commitment to diversity and multiculturalism; unionized setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, directs and manages the strategic goals of Career and Continuing Education programs.
• Supervises department staff and evaluates faculty and staff related to the programs.
• Recruit, train and supervise training specialists; recommend personnel for employment.
• Prepare and manage department budgets; seek additional revenue via grants.
• Write proposals for federal, state and private funding; oversee grant mandates and reporting.
• Develop new courses and certificates based on enrollment data, market trends and community needs.
• Ensure students have access to course and career advice and job placement opportunities.
• Represent the college to external entities and coordinate with the District Office.
